Rural Touring

Rural Touring is a scheme, sponsored by The Arts Council, to bring performing arts to the more remote and rural areas of the country. The scheme is delivered by regional Rural Touring organisations in partnership with local promoters, and many of the performances are in small village halls and community centres.

Lebedek are pleased to play in smaller venues where they can enjoy a more relaxed and intimate relationship with their audience. Their tour in County Durham, Cumbria and Northumberland, organised by Highlights North, was extremely successful, and other performances in village halls have shown that there is a wide appreciation for their musical proficiency, performance skills, and the detailed research that they have done into the ways in which music from Eastern Europe has influenced Western culture.
